another one bites the dust

Apparently the second known Bugatti Veyron accident has occurred in the British countryside near West Berkshire, UK. The $2 million plus supercar lost control on a sweeping curve, plowed through a hedge line and ended up backwards in a wheat field. The pictures are of poor quality, but the damage seems pretty extensive (and expensive) with a thoroughly reshaped left fender, destroyed lower fascia and shattered windshield. Seems like another case of the driver not knowing the limits in a car far exceeding his abilities

USDM R 35 wrecked

Godzilla, or the new Nissan GT-R as some call it, has only just started stomping around our shores, already we've got our first report of a GT-R smashed up somewhere stateside. Details are vague (some say the GT-R got into some fisticuffs with a Corvette ZR1 in a dark alley) but it's clear the incident wasn't exactly a minor fender-bender. The forum fanboys at MyGTR think it may have had something to do with the GT-R being driven into a pizza parlor, so maybe it was trying to take out a Ferrari or something. Geez, whatever happened to fighting it out on the Nürburgring?

HKS R35 upgrades

Serious Nissan GT-R tuners aren't coming out of the woodwork – yet – but one of Japan's largest aftermarket firms has thrown its hat into the ring, and to good effect. HKS will begin offering its GT570 kit to consumers in Japan later this year (no word on U.S. distribution) and as it's name implies, output is getting close to the 600 hp mark. The package includes new wastegate actuators for the stock turbos and an electronic boost controller, along with aluminum intercooler piping, silicon hose couplers and straight pipes that replace the stock catalytic converters, reducing back pressure, but negating the GT-R's road-legal status.All of those tweaks add up to a total of – you guessed it – 570 PS, or 562 hp and 540 lb.-ft. of torque at the wheels

The first project of Jeremie Paret is this Lamborghini Gallardo LP560, with Asanti Diamond wheels and pink brakes. It has carbon fiber side skirts, a front bumper with a Reventon style and a carbon fiber lip, and a bigger rear diffuser. The door handle is in carbon fiber too. The interior is fully customizable, with luxury leather/alcantara seats and parts and an Alpine/Focal In Car Entertainment system.

Takuma Sato's Super Aguri F1 Car Sells For $150,000

An SA06 model F1 car from the failed Super Aguri F1 team’s 2006 season has sold at auction for $150,000. The vehicle, which was driven by Takuma Sato, is one of the final assets of the team to be sold by its liquidator. We reckon the buyer, a Japan-based fan of the team, got himself quite a deal. Why?
First, he’s bought himself one of the fastest trackday toys in the world for a relatively low price. For just $150,000 (plus significant running costs) he’s guaranteed to be the fastest driver at any track. At least he’d better be. Purchasing just three laps in an F1 car can cost in excess of $5,000.
Also, as a collector’s vehicle, the SA06 represents an interesting footnote in F1 history. It was the team’s first development of the Arrows A23 chassis that they purchased from ex-Minardi boss Paul Stoddart. At the 2006 Brazilian Grand Prix, Sato took it to an impressive 10th place, setting the race’s seventh fastest lap. Power was provided by a Honda RA806E 2.4 V8.
