2009 Ferrari F60

The F60, breaking the trend of Ferrari's naming of its car models by the year, is the first contender to be launched ahead of the new season which kicks of in Australia in March. Until yesterday the F60 was to be launched at Ferrari's other test track, Fiorano, until unfavourable weather conditions saw plans altered.

The main differences in comparison to the 2008 car see a higher and wider front wing to meet the rule changes affecting aerodynamics for 2009, as well as a rear wing which is shorter but taller than its predecessor to allow greater airflow and more downforce during races, meaning competitors should be able to run closer together on track and therefore present them with more passing opportunities. The Ferrari is also the first car to be launched doning the Bridgestone slick tyres; this will be the first season the Japanese tyre manufacturer has produced its rubber minus grooves.
